FOAM SOAP ‘SAVES WATER’
Tuesday, October 11th, 2011Recent research commissioned by a hand hygiene manufacturer claims that people use 16% less water in the washroom when they use a foam soap compared to a liquid soap.It is estimated that if 100 people in a office wash there hands three times a day using a lotion soap they would save 20,000 litres of water per year by changing to a foam soap.
ALCOHOL BASED HAND SANITISERS
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011A recent report from the CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL in America has just released updated guidelines for the prevention of Norovirus and now recommends against using hand sanitisers as a substitute for soap and water.A recentsurvey of a 161 long-term care facilities in America revealed a link between the use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers for routine hand hygiene with an increased risk of Norovirus.The efficacy of alcohol-based and othe hand sanitisers against Norovirus remains controversial with mixed evidence depending on the product formulation and evaluation methodology.
Price Increases
Sunday, August 7th, 2011We are seeing major price increases in the market place over the past few months. As we know we are all effected by the price of oil which is starting to give major price increases of up to 40% in plastics , 10% in paper & unrelated to oil – COTTON PRODUCTS- by up to 60%.
All of these are having a major effect on our industry where we daily see pressure to reduce prices not increase them.
